I wanted to speed-run creating and animating a project in Unreal Engine with 99% self-made assets. I ended up creating this stylized southwestern-themed environment inspired by Riot Games Teamfight Tactics. I modeled all assets (except the yellow grass) in Nomad Sculpt, painted PBR textures in Substance Painter, and lit and animated in Unreal Engine. After I made this I reached out some of the artists at Riot and learned about how they use unlit albedo-only rendering, which is a very interesting technique that works excellently with the rigorous technical specs needed to operate on a E-sport MMO scale.
